The crowd at Ambridge Area High School's Moe Rubenstein Stadium roared as Ben Roethlisberger and Shaquille O'Neal took the field Friday night.
The hype was all for a taping of "Shaq Vs.," a new reality show featuring O'Neal stepping away from the basketball court to take on various athletes.
His first challenge -- the two-time Super Bowl quarterback of the Pittsburgh Steelers.

"It was just amazing to see two pro athletes and especially Shaq -- to see a guy of that magnitude, that big, the height difference. I mean, Ben's a tall guy, but to see Shaq just tower over Ben was just amazing," said fan Jordan Giles.
O'Neal and Roethlisberger took to the gridiron to see who had the best skills quarterbacking the semi-pro Pittsburgh Colts.

"Oh, it's spectacular. They said Lebron James is coming. I really want to see him, but Shaq is big. He's as big as life," said Devin Poczot.
Monte Rayes and his wife caught the action from atop the roof of their nearby home.
"It's different. You know, it's good to see some of these events in the smaller communities rather than always downtown Pittsburgh," said Rayes.

While the Steelers aren't scheduled to begin training camp until July 31, watching Roethlisberger throw around the pigskin against O'Neal was more than enough to hold Steelers faithful over for another week.
"It was pretty exciting. I graduated from Ambridge, all this excitement to be out here. It was pretty exciting to come down and see Ben and Shaq. It was really a good time," said Erin Mudrick.

The one-hour series debuts on ABC on August 18.
Other athletes scheduled to face O'Neal include Michael Phelps, Serena Williams, Oscar de la Hoya and Albert Pujols.
