The Associated Press Class AAAA all-state team was released over the weekend, and a number of familiar WPIAL names are littered on the page. A total of eleven WPIAL players earned all-state honors, ten of them being named to the first team.

Highlighting the selections are Dorian Bell and Corey Brown of Gateway, whom have both committed to Ohio State. Fellow Gator B.J. Stevens, a defensive lineman who registered 22 sacks this season, has committed to Miami (OH).

Penn Hills earned two all-state defenders in lineman Aaron Donald and linebacker Dan Mason, and offensive lineman Miles Dieffenbach. Mason is being pursued by Pitt, Penn State, West Virginia, and Boston College.

All but two of the players are seniors, the lone exceptions being Donald and Canon-McMillan linebacker Mike Hull, both juniors. Hull has already verbally committed to Penn State.

RB Brian Williams, Gateway
