The players from the U.S. Army All-American Bowl are preparing for this year's all-star high school football showcase, which will feature two local standouts. Gateway seniors Dorian Bell and Corey Brown arrived in San Antonio yesterday in preparation for the game, which will take place Saturday afternoon.

The All-American bowl has gained a great deal of popularity in recent years, as players such as Vince Young, Reggie Bush, and Terrelle Pryor have participated.

"This means so much to me because there is so much history to this game," Brown said. "Players like Reggie Bush played in the game. I've never been on the field with this much talent so I'm really looking forward to that.

Both players are rated highly in national prep rankings, and are also committed to play at Ohio State next year. Bell is rated 27th in the Tom Lemming Recruiting Report's Top 100 players, and is the second-ranked linebacker. He is also on maxpreps.com's "Blue Chip" list. Brown was recruited as a defensive back, having played wide receiver and safety at Gateway.

Joining them in San Antonio will be their head coach, Terry Smith, who will be the head coach of the East team. Kickoff is at 1 PM Saturday, and the game will be televised nationally on NBC.
