The Perry Commodores were more like Lionel Richie's Commodores with an "Easy" victory over the Allderdice Dragons in the City League Boys Basketball Championship Thursday night.

The Commodores, playing the role of Dragon-slayers at Duquesne University's A.J. Palumbo Center, emphatically defeated Allderdice 61-35.

Perry started the game with an 11-2 run and finished the first quarter up 19-8.

Despite not shooting well, the Commodores played aggressive defense and led 29-16 at the half.

Allderdice pulled within 10 points at the end of the third, but the Commodores' physical play and stout defense allowed them to go on another run and take a commanding 50-33 with five minutes remaining in regulation.

From there, the Commodores would "Sail On" to their first City League Championship since 2004.
